Berryhill House

中国宝塔之王――定州塔，又称开元寺塔、料敌塔，是国内现存最高的一座砖质结构塔，此塔于1961年3月4日列为国家重点文物保护单位。
　　定州塔建在开元寺塔内，故名“开元寺塔”，又名“开元宝塔”。考定县志载，此塔为宋代所建。宋真宗时，开元寺的和尚“会能”常到西竺（西域天竺）取经，得“舍利子”回来。咸平四年（公元1001年），皇帝诏“会能”建塔，把“舍利子”埋在塔底下石匣内（即金棺银椁）。建塔工期从咸平四年（1001年）开始，到宋仁宗至和二年（公元1055年）告成，前后共经历五十四年，工程浩大用材极多，有“砍尽嘉山（曲阳境内）木，修成定州塔”的传说。
