Access picture w/tourguide file
There may be more of you that are wondering how to access a picture when there is one associated with a tourguide file. I figured out a part of it so I wanted to give back to the community :)
First, most of the Nuvi's have the ability to save pictures as well as mp3's separately on the device, but you can also embed a picture in the mp3 before the tourguide file is made into a gpi.
On the tourguide files I've seen on this site it's actually impossible to tell when there is a picture inserted. From my testing I can tell that most of the DC files have pictures in the mp3.
To see them, when the tourguide file plays (see the testing help on the touguide help page to see how to simulate on) click on the speaker symbol and you will see a smaller version of the picture. Clock on it and it takes you to a larger version.
Try it out and let me know if it works on the other non nuvi units.
Can't display an MP3 embedded picture on my 760
I embedded a picture in one of my TourGuide MP3 files. If I use the 760 Media Player to play the file (I also loaded just the MP3 file on the SD card to test this) I can see the small picture and the large one when I click on it. So I know the picture IS in the MP3 file's tag and can be displayed. But I can't see the picture when the TourGuide file plays as described in other posts. When I click on the Tour Guide icon when the MP3 is playing I see the same thing as if no picture was in the file. Any ideas?
