Garmin Nuvi 650 POI Install Help
I have spent numerous hours reading all they different forum's on how to install POI on to my GPS. I still am having a hard time with it....here is my problem. I do not have a garmin/poi folder, so i created it. But when I was installing the POI Loader from the Garmin Website it asked be which directory I wanted to locate the files. I tried to select my F:\Garmin\POI like it said so in the instructions but I received an error message saying I had to pick a folder that supported .gpx not .gpi...Now what? According to this website Garmin Nuvi do support .gpi files but the Garmin website seems to suggest .gpx. Can someone help me.

I just went through a similar experience. I copied the poi's to the poi folder and when the wizard asked for location of data files I selected the gpx folder in the Garmin device. It seems to have worked for me... After install, disconnect the unit, turn it on, go to "where to?", extras, Custom POIs - It'll show the POIs that you loaded.
