John Huss (Jan Hus) was a Bohemian theologian who became Confessor to the Queen under King Wenceslas IV. He opposed the selling of indulgences, and was convicted of heresy and burned at the stake. This set off the Hussite Wars which lasted until 1435. Huss became revered as a martyr. His 1915 monument displays his last words: "Truth will prevail."
